claudeKarma Privacy Policy

How it works

claudeKarma reads your Claude AI usage data directly from claude.ai using your existing browser session. This data:

• Is fetched directly from claude.ai to your browser
• Is stored locally on your device only
• Is never sent to any external servers
• Is never shared with third parties

Network requests

The extension makes these outbound requests during normal use:

1. claude.ai (Anthropic's official website): to fetch your own usage data, plan tier, and usage credits state, using your existing login session. No password is ever stored or seen by the extension.
2. static.tokenkarma.app: to fetch the public peak hours schedule (a static JSON file). No authentication, no cookies, no user identifier. Every user receives the same response.
3. api.tokenkarma.app: to fetch the public list of AI providers (names, brand colors, logos) shown in the "Want to track" link and on the welcome/update pages. Fetched without cookies or credentials, tagged only with source=claudekarma. Every user receives the same response.
4. api.tokenkarma.app (daily heartbeat): once a day, the extension sends an anonymous health report: extension version, operating system, browser language, and the same integer health counters described under "Uninstall feedback" (fetch successes, login errors, network errors, setup failures, days since last successful fetch). No install ID, no cookie, no usage content. Each ping only means "one install was active today in this state". This exists so we can detect when an update breaks the extension before users have to uninstall it.

No request carries any personal data, account identifier, or usage content.

Local storage

The extension stores the following on your device only:

• Usage data: your current session, weekly, and usage credits percentages
• Organization ID: your Claude organization identifier (for API requests)
• Preferences: theme, notification settings, Karma progress, tips viewed status
• Health counters: anonymous counts of fetch successes and errors (see "Uninstall feedback" below)

This data is stored using Chrome's local storage API and never leaves your device while the extension is installed.

Uninstall feedback

When you uninstall claudeKarma, Chrome opens a short feedback page on tokenkarma.app. The extension is no longer running at that point; Chrome itself performs the navigation. The URL carries:

• Extension version, browser language, operating system
• Anonymous health counters: how many times data fetches succeeded or failed (login errors, network errors, setup never completed), and how many days since the last successful fetch

These are plain integers with no user identifier. They exist so we can understand whether people leave because the extension stopped working, and fix it. You can close the tab; nothing else is sent.

Third-party services

claudeKarma embeds no third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or fingerprinting. The tokenkarma.app website (including the post-uninstall feedback page) has its own analytics:

tokenkarma.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics on most pages. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not track individual visitors across sessions. The post-uninstall feedback page (/bye/claudekarma/) and the optional AI-stack survey page (/survey/ai-stack/) additionally load Meta Pixel and PostHog to measure conversion on those specific funnels.

Data security

All data remains in your browser's local storage. We have no servers holding your usage data, no databases of users, and no way to access your information.
